Genesis 1: 1-5 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the water. God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and He called the darkness “night.” Evening came and then morning: the first day.
God, our Creator, was in existence before time was clocked by night and day. He created the heavens and the earth and although the earth was nothing but watery depths without form and empty of life, the Spirit of God was moving and hovering over the surface of the water. Darkness covered it all.
In the darkness, there was God!
In the mess and mire of the watery depths, God saw beauty for His creation. His plan would be perfect and His creation would be beautiful and filled with the glory of His presence.
In the darkness, there was God!
His Spirit was moving even then as His plan and purpose was laid into place. You and I were thoughts in His mind and the plan of redemption from sin had already been planned. Omnipotent God saw through the ages of time that was not yet set in place and determined His plan to come in the flesh as Jesus Christ to save mankind from sin. He knew what would consume the beautiful world He created. And He made provisions for the sin that was to inhabit the earth. His plan of salvation would remove the sin for those who believe in His Son Jesus Christ. They would become children of the light.
In the darkness, there was God!
God’s power created light and it would shine in the darkness. God said, “Let there be light” and it was so. God saw that it was good and He separated it from the darkness and gave it a name. He called the light day! And God saw the darkness and called it night and the evening came and then the morning of the first day.
Those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior are children of the light. We belong to Him and not to the evils of the world or to our enemy the devil and his darkness. Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior? Do you want to become a follower of Jesus? Here is how. Follow the link: http://myjourneyoffaith.com/howtobecomeachristian/
1 Thessalonians 5: 5 “You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.”
